We found it, it's in Port Orange, and what a great find it is. 95 and Vine. Cute, kitschy, and organized. We stopped in on an ordinary Wednesday, after all it's our job to search for great places (and not the easiest places) and we did exactly that. Tucked into a small strip of stores right before I-95, it has found a niche market in a place sorely needing it. An incredible selection of wine from ports to Rosé, sweet wines to dry wines, from France to Chile, there's something for every palate. Owner Martin stated "this is my first time owning a small business". Well, we found him to be extremely knowledgeable. His staff is also loaded with information. Shay, our Sommelier, was brilliant. All we had to do was give her our taste profiles, dark berry, wild flowers, etc... and she produced something that would fit each and every time. The choices were perfect. Where there is wine there should be Charcuterie and there was. A place wouldn't be perfect without the cheese board. Perfect nosh, tasty and healthy, it came with a few slices of delicious prosciutto. With live entertainment and a cheery atmosphere, we give 95 and Vine a thumbs up on your culinary must do list. This weekend, Saturday, in Flagler Beach Golden Lion celebrated its silver anniversary that's right 25 years in business on the Atlantic coast a hard feat to accomplish by any stretch of the imagination, hurricanes economic recessions. It didn't stop them they are the Golden Lion. With entertainment provided by the Fantastic sounds of Orange Avenue. Great food on a deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean fantastically prepared by chef “Ramses De La O”. He is a tireless young executive chef who grinds out great food for the tremendous crowds that pour into the Golden Lion. Sitting on the deck we had the perfect spot, the ocean to our left. Sunset on the right. Perfect view of the surprising fly by. With streamers flowing, music playing, people dancing and eating and singing along. The anniversary was perfect even Mother Nature threatened and was scared off by the Lions Roar. So here's to 25 more. Daytona Beach, FL At a Daytona Beach City Commission meeting, the commissioners discussed how they would regulate medical marijuana dispensaries in the City. It seems they don't want to work so they just want to ban what has been been signed into state law. We believe this action will end up being challenged in court should they vote on this matter and try to ban dispensaries. Reasons given we're obsolete and ultimately delay getting the help to people that need the Medical Marijuana that was legalized by The State of Florida. Those seemingly for a ban include Commissioner Dannette Henry, Ruth Trager, Kelly White and Daytona Beach Police Chief Craig Capri. Others present present that supported allowing medical marijuana dispensaries were The Mayor and Representative Aaron Delgato |
