New Smyrna Beach
Restaurant Review:
Cork Screw Bar and Grille

We waited 2 years to do a review here. Now in it's 3rd year it is an obvious win.
Though Cork Screw has gone through a few Chefs and even an Executive Chef that was actually 2 people the Owners had a plan and they stuck to it.
Entering this place is immediately inviting, a reminder of what Old Florida might look like. Tiki Torches Lush Vegetation and it's cool... not cold with brick stone and marble bars.
First I'll mention the owners are always present and the hospitality is what you would expect from a person welcoming you into their home.
Which brings us to the eats and drinks.
Refreshing is an understatement. On a hot day we suggest the Singapore Sling. I'm not a gin fan but had to try this classic invented at the Ritzy "Raffles" Hotel many years ago.
It was perfectly executed by the very charming mixologist Jen.
Having been here a few times prior we can attest that the wine selection is very well rounded I believe the choices are made at meetings with the ever present and extremely knowledgeable Chris and Ross who manage the day to day operations. Everyone can find something to their liking or price range.
As a test we dined on a Salad something new for me Heart Healthy crisp and absolutely a new flavor in every bite.
Next was the Blackened Alligator... An old chef Jason Wilson I used to watch on TV said it best. "I Guarantee"
A Cuban Sandwich followed yes it had Ham and Tart Pickles. Yes it was yummy and delicious the first time and it's still #yummyanddelicious
But the real test for me were the Collared Greens. Almost speechless but 5 times had 5 times perfect. 5 *****
Earns this New Smyrna Beach eatery our highest praise and is definitely a #behinddaytona pick of the year.
