Sept 7th 2019 By Jeff Stolowitz A beautiful Saturday afternoon it was and about a dozen residents showed up and joined with Commissioner Quanita May, the Owner of Main Street Station Phaedra Lee and Jeff Stolowitz of Behind Daytona for a Main Street Walk and Sweep. "This is the second time we have done this", said Phaedra the turnout was much better and we will probably do this every month now. The biggest issue we have is the Cigarette Butts that littered the entire street except in two spots (The Pallet Pub and Johnny Rock N Rides) they had cigarette receptacles in front of each location. We call this the Clean & Keg because each participant receives Free Beer at the End of the Clean Up. What we did find that was upsetting was the completely empty Billboard Post on Main Street. Who is supposed to maintain this? Commissioner May will be looking into it. It is nice to note there was little in the way of real trash though there are a few hot spots that needed attention. Next event will be scheduled soon sometime before Biketoberfest Advertisers |
