Dukes is a well established part of the East Side 30's Scene. Right on 3rd Ave as you exit the Midtown Tunnel. Good Cold Beer with a funky NYC vibe. Noisy and great for watching the Big Games on TV. Good find Behind Your Destination Fun, Educational, Entertaining program by a crew of Buccaneers, Wenches, Corsairs and Pirates who engage with innovative programs concerning the maritime environment. So many to choose from but we narrowed it down and came up with the Greensquare Tavern. This place has a lot going for it with a few small stumbles we still thought it worthy to write about. Greeted very nicely by the hostess she showed us to a very nice table in the back corner. We could see everything from this vantage point. A railroad car style long place with a nice bar upfront. Our waitress arrived but did not introduce herself and went into specials immediately. A better approach may have been considered. Asking if we had been there before or if we had looked at the menu yet. She was pleasant in any case but the details... I ordered a special she recommended. The steak sandwich with Gruyere Cheese, Caramelized Onion, & Fries when asked the price the waitress told us it was $16.00.a good value so I thought. However when the bill came we were charged $20.00 for the sandwich and they never corrected the difference. Just another mistake by our waitress who by now had forgotten our Coke and Coffee. The other meals arrived a Ham BLT and the Simple Burger with Bacon. The plates were all garnished with fries and a Mesclun salad lightly dressed & a touch of salt The food was delicious and finally the back waiter began to make up for our originals waiters faux pas, our drinks arrived water was poured condiments were placed and we thoroughly enjoyed. Especially the steak sandwich which I would gladly have paid $20.00 for had we not been told $16.00 to begin with. Highly recommended just be aware some of the lunch staff seems to still be in training mode. Located on 5 West 21st St. This is a good find and give it 2.9 out of 5 for lunch. We need to return for dinner. Review By Jeff Stolowitz
