Incognito!!!! What a find!

     In the course of years of travel, Behind Dallas has listened to an enormous number of bands. There have been times that we have had the moment where we were just stopped in our tracks and had to refocus on what we were experiencing. The band Incognito, while playing at The Pour Shack (Bronson Rock at the time) provided us with one of those moments. Listening from the next room without view of the stage we knew the band was good, but stepping in and seeing the switch from a Lita Ford look to a Van Halen then Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper blew our minds. 
     There are a plethora of tribute band experiences out there on the circuit, most go to strong levels of appearance to look like their artist they are honoring, however Incognito was switching their garb out for each artist they were covering. I can imagine the challenges of their costume changes would be hilarious with such small times allotted between songs in tiny spaces to change in. The results however were amazing. Such effort, passion and talent just to bring us fans enjoyment and snippets of time enjoying different bands masterpieces. Now not every performance by Incognito involves the “All Star” costume changes but even their regular shows bring a dynamic energy. 
     Kevin Davis, Jeff Gilpin, Dave White, Jake Crawford and Missi St Thomas truly are amazing performers. We have seen them several times and it is a tremendous experience each time. What also marks them as unique is the ability to bring in quality musicians, particularly percussionists to enable Jeff to get to the front of the stage for his songs and performances. Just this last week we had another chance to listen at the Bedford Ice House. A beautiful night of appearances from Stevie Nicks, Brett Michaels, Janis Joplin, Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, David Lee Roth, Ozzy Osbourne and so many more.
