The band, with firm roots in grunge, provided an exciting stage show with superior presence and musicianship. They more than made "good" on the promises that have been popping up on their Facebook page for a few months as of late in the form of 'teaser' music videos! Thirst is comprised of Clayton Sturgeon & Ryan Salamone (also Known as Ryno Sally Sal ), who are both already part of one of the most respected and widely known Nirvana tribute bands, Nirvanna. They have been members of many local Central Florida bands and Clayton has a successful solo acoustic act that is seen and followed at multiple venues in Volusia county. Rounding out the Thirst musical threesome is a well known and extremely talented drummer, Will Hunt. He is currently drumming for the band Evanescence but has, and still does, lend his hard hitting beats to multiple other bands as time allows. He has played for such powerhouses as Black Label Society, Staind, and Staic X. We are excited to hear this new music hitting the scene and await airplay on the radio one day as they are due to release an album soon, details to come .......... Thirst and Nirvanna is excited to announce they will be headlining a 2 week tour of Italy in March! The band will have songs played on virgin radio in Italy in March as well. By Jeff Stolowitz January 4, 2019 Mäi Tatro and her Band Moonlight Drive-In headlined at Main Street Station this week for the Venerable and famous $1.00 Beer Bike Night. Many Musicians and Bands have taken the stage here, not many of them have made this kind of impression. The crowd was stunned. Song after song in 3 sets they just slayed the Biker crowd. Mai Tatro's stage presence is overwhelming as she playfully flirts with the crowd flipping her hair and using her eyes to draw them into to the music. Gregory Davidson with his guitar is rock steady alongside the Bass and Drums of Greyson Belcher and Shane Hager. The Bands Alternative style of Rock reflects a cross over, a little Hippie, a Little Punk, a Tad Hipster and they know how to pay homage to those who came before. They are currently working on an Record to be released sometime this year. While I followed Mai from the time she was 14 playing gigs solo in restaurants free, she has now grown up Rock Star style and she works hard at it still. Mai is now booked around the area and she plays at The Shores Resort and Spa and at Off The Hook at Inlet Harbor. The whole band will be performing at Main Street Station multiple nights. If you missed them this past week I suggest checking the calendar and seeing them before it costs you $50.00 a Ticket. Main Street Station 316 Main Street Daytona Beach, Fl 32118 By Jeff Stolowitz Daytona Shores Dec. 21, 2018 Performance sometimes means persitence, and Food and Beverage Director Michael Bartscher is just that persistent at excellence. It is one of the reasons the Hotel remains the Champion of Hotels in our area. This years wine series at the Shores Resort and Spa was nothing short of spectacular. The Champagne Reception this past Wednesday was a great way to finish off the culinary journey we embarked upon here in 2018 The night was fun and whimsical, the room was wide open and warmly decorated for the Holidays. The flowing Champagne was from the renowned Perrier-Jouët in existance now since 1811 and known for being the choice of many celebrities over centuries. Having tasted the varietals offered it was obvious what was in the Flutes was greatness but our pick of the evening was the Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosè a fantastic blend of flavor with Red Rose and Orange Honey Citrus nose, a crisp finish that just ended wrapped around your tongue like cool air. Then there were the plates of deliciousness and with the way a child looks at a gift under the tree I ate. Once again Chef Ransom danced with flavors and expertly paired them. Venison and Huckleberry and a unique play on Melon and Prosciutto were on the menu. Chef Ransom uses compressed Melon, a technique that concentrates the flavors then the addition of a crispy Prosciutto and the peppery Arugala. As I exited I was reminded by the stellar Acoustics of Memory Lane of the days when I was a cook. Yes I was a cook I reminded myself I was, and with that thought I became acutely aware of the teamwork it takes to achieve the greatness the Staff at this Hotel achieves. So from me to all of the staff Happy Healthy Holidays and Thank You for your hard work. Menu December 19th, 2018

JIM BELUSHI & THE BOARD OF COMEDY Perform at The Peabody Friday, January 25, 2019 @ 7:30 p.m. Daytona Beach – June 4, 2018…Jim Belushi brings his show, Jim Belushi & The Board of Comedy, to The Peabody Friday, January 25, 2019 for a 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. With more than thirty years of experience and an alumnus of “Saturday Night Live” and Chicago’s famed Second City, JIM BELUSHI is now bringing to the stage an improvised comedy sketch show featuring members of the Board of Comedy. Belushi starred on the ABC hit comedy "According to Jim,” on which he also served as executive producer, music composer and director. After wrapping 182 episodes for its eighth and final season, the family favorite series also hit a milestone when it launched into off-net syndication in 2007. A favorite of film, television and stage audiences, Belushi is one of the great leading character actors equally at home in drama and comedy, and a gifted performer who can also hold a room as front man of a rhythm and blues band. Accompanying Belushi are Megan Grano, Larry Joe Campbell, Trey Stone and Joshua Funk, all of whom are classically trained professional improvisers who tour regularly nationwide. “This group of actors brings me right back to how I started out in comedy, stated Jim Belushi. Maybe that's why we have so much fun doing it." JIM BELUSHI AND THE BOARD OF COMEDY "We are not stand-up comedians. Our show is not a passive, sit-back-and-watch experience. Most of the fun we have on stage comes from our inclusion of the audience – we get suggestions from them to begin each scene we perform, and in certain instances, bring them on-stage with us to add to our performance. It's less a ‘show’ and more a party. At least it feels like one to me.” – Jim Belushi MEGAN GRANO Megan Grano has appeared on TV in Weeds, Parks and Recreation, Hot in Cleveland, Conan, The Great State of Georgia, and American Dad. Film roles include Bridesmaids and This is 40. She is a 2007 alum of The Second City Chicago. Megan is also an iO Theater alum, where she has performed since 1999. She is beyond grateful to be a part of the Board of Comedy. LARRY JOE CAMPBELL Larry Joe Campbell is excited to be onstage with this super talented cast! And he is ecstatic to be back with Jim again having worked together for 8 seasons on According to Jim. Since then, Larry has appeared in the movies Hall Pass and Killers and has had recurring roles on Weeds, Rules of Engagement, and Lifetime's The Protector. Larry Joe was recently seen in R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon and in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. Larry Joe lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Peggy, and their five children. Larry would like you to know that he loves you. (Yes, you. The one who's reading this.) JOSHUA FUNK Joshua Funk is a multiple award-winning director and alum from The Second City in Chicago. His television and film credits include Key & Peele, Reno 911, Wild n' Out, and Steven Soderbergh's The Informant. Recently, he had a blast filming Kenny Ortega's A Change of Heart with Jim Belushi and Larry Joe Campbell. When he is not acting, Joshua composes and produces the original music for Comedy Central's hit show Key & Peele. He is also the artistic director for The Second City Hollywood and the director of Jim Belushi and the Board of Comedy. TREY STONE Starting off as a humble jazz pianist in Chicago, Trey Stone eventually had the good fortune to become Musical Director at The Second City in Chicago, where he served in that capacity for fifteen years. In 2013, Trey released his critically acclaimed album "Ahead of the Pack," featuring his rock-and-roll, New Orleans, and country-influenced songwriting and piano. Insomnia is a local band. It is a cover band that has tremendous energy. They just hit it hard and they play with everything they got. Fronted by Thai Pichon on vocals completely versatile, the incredible talented Bass player Adam Dority. Adam is one of those musicians that walks the Bass. He also is a community minded person, always putting others before himself setting up benefits for many different causes. On the guitar is this guy you know one of those understated types Mike Paci. Stage presence and chops like no one else around here. Uniquely done they also have the ability to let Drummers like Barry Welch or Neil Hale sit in. They still don't miss a beat. On this night we got to also hear Ronny Rodriguez sing. We still don't know why Ronny isn't signed. He has one of those true rock voices. It is a great growing music scene here in the Daytona area. With venues like Marks Sports Pub giving the local talent the ability to shine and play for pay. It is certain more and more will be heard. Insomnia plays at many venues now so if you missed them just look for them on Facebook www.facebook.com/InsomniaDaytona/ |
