James spent the 12 years prior tethered to a kidney dialysis machine after being diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease at age 34. The mercury in 11 silver amalgam dental fillings leaked into his bloodstream and shut down his kidney function. Since May 2014, James has been fundraising for the out-of-pocket costs associated with life after transplant with the national nonprofit organization Help Hope Live at helphopelive.org. Help Hope Live has maintained a four-star rating from Charity Navigator for 15 years. Proceeds from the Rock4James fundraiser will be donated to Help Hope Live in honor of James Michael McLester. “I hope to assist others in finding resources to help defray the enormous medical costs associated with these kinds of transplants,” said James. “I am now living dialysis- and mercury-free thanks to my network of physicians and the compassionate team at Help Hope Live. Me and my wife, Kristen, now have a pathway to manage ongoing medical expenses. Rock4James came from my vision to raise awareness for screening and early detection of kidney disease.” You can keep up with James’s journey at helphopelive.org. Can’t make it? Donations can be made in honor of James at any time at helphopelive.org or by calling 800.642.8399. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and all funds raised will be used to offset medical expenses via Help Hope Live’s South-Central Transplant Fund. Help Hope Live is a national nonprofit that specializes in engaging communities in fundraising campaigns for people who need a transplant or are affected by a catastrophic injury or illness. Since 1983, campaigns organized by Help Hope Live have raised over $135 million to pay patient expenses. I have to share this gem that was found today. Thanks Kindness Factory and Marianna TF for bringing this awesomeness to our vision. Acts of kindness heal wounds that you might not see or know about. Be good to each other! Behind Dallas
“My name is Ibby and I am a deaf man. I have been deaf ever since an accident when I was two years old. Every day on the way to work I drop by Starbucks and order my usual- a caramel Frappuccino. I can’t communicate like normal people, so I have the order written on my phone and I show it to the cashier every day. They all mostly know my order by heart now so I rarely have to show it to them anymore. Today I was met by the cashier with this sign. Her name was Krystal Payne and after she handed me the sign she started signing to me, asking what my order would be today? We chatted in sign for about 2 minutes and I learnt that she had spent hours watching YouTube videos just so that she could take my order the way she does for everybody else. I haven’t felt so equal in all of my life.” #kindnessfactory #onesmallact It is a sad condition we find ourselves in that this type of heroic action is even needed to be thought about let alone performed. We respect your memory and heroism young man! I implore our politicians and populace to find the moderate middle ground where compromise for both sides to win is a thing again and we can concentrate more on making our kids lives better than this.

Lauren King wrote a fantastic bit of work on Richard. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/surviving-doolittle-raider-richard-cole-dies-103/story?id=62280697 Behind Dallas Especially noticeable over the past couple of years, we have lost many celebrities who made us happy with their art. Likewise many of us have personally or through associations lost friends or family to the fight with depression. I saw this bit today and wanted to share, take care of each other and recognize that even a moment can change someone's battle to the positive. Together we are Behind Dallas and together we can beat anything. It occurred to Pooh 🐻 and Piglet 🐷 that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats 🎩 and coats 🧥 and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood🌲 to Eeyore's stick house. Inside the house was Eeyore.
"Hello Eeyore," said Pooh. "Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet " said Eeyore, in a Glum Sounding Voice "We just thought we'd check in on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay." Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time hanging out with someone who is Sad, and Alone, and Not Much Fun To Be Around At All, would you now." Pooh looked and Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house. Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?" "We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling Sad, or Alone, or Not Much Fun To Be Around At All. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are." 💜💚 "Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better. 🥰 Because Pooh and Piglet were There. No more; no less. A.A.Milne E.H.Shepard |
